I cant believe it's June already! Well, let's kick off the month right with this Monochromatic Fanatic project I'm sharing on the Paper Issues Blog today!

Who's got the blues? Not me! Well, ok, I guess I do now! All shades of blue! This challenge is so fun for me. I like digging into my stuff too find coordinating pieces!

I put my paper to work for me today. Yes, yes I do that every time I scrap. Anyway, first I cut the Stitching Star Galaxy FREE cut file. Then I layered it over an ombre blue Pink Paislee paper. Boom. That was easy. Now what? Oh yeah. All those blue bits and pieces I grabbed needed to find their way onto the page.  

I snuck a visit to my son on his birthday. I wanted to add pieces that make me think of him and this day. I used Pinkfresh So Cool, Shimelle Never Grow up, Pretty Little Studio and Cocoa Vanilla stickers and ephemera. It's exactly how I wanted it: Positive, Inspiring and BLUE.

Boss Lady

Hey there. I have a little something to share on A Flair For Buttons blog today.

Sometimes I go in spurts with flair. I use them all the time, then I don't. Well, I'm definitely in a "use them all the time" spurt right now.

I used all kinds of bits & things on this layout for the Paper Issues Danielle Does it Live challenge, including flair from 3 different sets. Marble Flair, Two Tone Hearts, and Sherbert Stars. I love to mix things up in size, shape, color and pattern. These flair did just that for this project. The colors matched this Pink Paislee Lucky Us paper perfectly.

The page is celebrating my recent promotion at work. I used the She Ra Power cut file for the title.

I'm Fondue You

Hello there!  I've been waiting impatiently to share this project on the Paper Issues Blog. Well, today's the day! Want to take a guess which challenge it's for? Well, I made this for the Sweet Talk challenge.

I'd been thinking about Conversation Heart Candy. I buy a box of them every year for my son. I have no idea if he eats them, but it started when he was little and he still smiles when he sees them.

Anyway, I wanted to have a pile of hearts on the page. Lucky for me, I found just what I was looking for with the  Mason Jar Fresh Picked free cut file. I got to work right away using Pink Paislee Lucky Us. OMG I love this Valentine collection. It's so happy. And colorful. In other words, right up my alley. I used 5 different papers, including Paper 10 for the background.  Then I cut the pile of hearts outline from of Paper 2, and filled them with Paper 12 and Paper 6. The best part was using and all the candy shaped stickers I could find on the  6x12 Stickers and Lucky Charm Phrase Thickers. With all of the colorful hearts, they were all the embellishments I needed to add.

We'd been talking about making a dessert fondue the entire month of December. For one reason or another we never did. We left it to that last possible moment to finally make it; the day we took him back to school. Better late than never right?

All is Bright

Well hello there! I'm on the Paper Issues blog today with my project for the Split Personality challenge. This is a new challenge for us. Immediately I started thinking of ideas. Black/white, pattern/solid, stripes/polka dots. The possibilities are endless.

I will be honest, this is nothing like the idea I had in my head. I have no idea how I ended up this way. Well, I do, so here goes. I love all the Pink Paislee Together for Christmas plaids papers and wanted to mix them up to create a half and half. Nope. Couldn't make it work the way I wanted it to. on to plan B. 

I lined up the plaids. Hmmm. I like that. Then I stitched them down. No changing it now! I kept going, loading up the right side of the page with paper, stickers, ephemera. Then hit me. My split personality could be most of the design on one side of the page, a little bit on the other side. I added a small cluster on the edge of the left side. And that's the story of how my split personality page came to be. 

I found this light festival was in town over the holidays. We don't usually do Christmas stuff, but I wanted to do something with the family that we could all enjoy. There were over 1 million lights hanging, dangling, in all kinds of shapes. It was a bit cheesy, but also lots of fun. Plus, it's always a bonus if you can get a family photo, let alone a good one!

Good Things

Hey there! It's Scraplift Sunday at Paper Issues and I'm sharing my lift of Cassie W's page on the Paper Issues Blog today!   You can check out her layout below.

I am totally in love with the Paper Issues Monthly kits.  I couldn't wait to tear or umm, cut into it. They are pure heaven. Have you noticed that each month kind of mixes well with the previous month?!?! Genius!  

Anyway, I love that Cassie's LO is on an angle but I was not feeling that. Nope. I straightened out the design. Other than that. I pretty much lifted the entire thing. Well. ok, I made some changes because that's what I do! I moved the title to the bottom and journaled between the photos on one of the Pink Paislee Again & Again ephemera. I added some sequins from the November Swag Bag , and also lots of Again & Again stickers. Did you know pieces of the monthly kits are usually stocked individually in the shop? Well you do now!  Lastly, Nuvo drops. Always Nuvo drops.

I have a thing about cherries. I think it stems from a  poem my Grandma used to read to me. At one time I could recite it from memory. Since moving here, all I've ever wanted to do was go cherry picking. This year we finally did. The day was awesome from start to finish. We met up with one of my Paper Issues friends, picked many pounds of cherries, ate blueberry donuts, took some amazing photos, then went out for Mexican food for lunch. I can't wait to go back again next summer.

Pool Side

Hey there and Happy September! I'm starting the month sharing this layout on The Cut Shoppe blog today. I used the Pool Side cut file that was featured in the July 25 newsletter. 

I loved this cut file when I saw it, but had to wait to use it! Our vacation was at the end of the summer. I was writing down ideas the whole time and the day after we got home I made this layout. 

I decided to slightly tilt the cut file so I could put the photos on an angle as well. Setting the photo on lighter, brighter colors than the dark navy of the cut file created balance throughout the page.

Picture Perfect

Hey there! I'm on the Paper Issues blog today with my project for the Let's Get Fussy Challenge. Let's talk fussy cutting for moment shall we? I've found you either love it or hate it. I'm on the I love to fussy cut team. I sure do enjoy a little time with my scissors and a piece of pretty patterned paper!

So, I was stalking my mailbox waiting for the August Paper Issues Kit. I had to cut apart the Love Always paper in the new Amy Tangerine collection, Slice of Life.   Oh those hearts!  Well, look at that. It's exactly what I did. After I cut them all out, I used both sides of the paper to create my design. I love the pop of yellow and the little bit of pattern it brings. Some are even raised with pop tape! I faced them towards each other, sandwiching the photos in between. So easy.

The hearts are everything on this page. It didn't need much embellishing. I just used the Truly Grateful ephemera and Phrase Thickers that are in the kit! Perfection.

These two are my world. But even though they are close in age, they are worlds apart. Walking in to find them like this made me cry. Bubba rarely goes in Big Bro's room. Climbing up on the bed is something I've never seen him do before. It's something I hope I see again.

Home Sweet Home

Hey there! I'm  sharing this layout on The Cut Shoppe Blog today. I used the Mid Century Modern cut file. Don't you think it's perfect for a photo about a home? I do! I came across this old photo of me in my first apartment. All I could think about was this cut file.

I really like layers on my pages. paper, embellishments, all of it. I wanted to layer the cut file, but didn't want to back it with other papers. I found if I used the 'offset' feature on the Silhouette, I could create an edge to place around the cut file. This gives it the appearance of layers!

Pairing cut files with the right papers makes all the difference for me. In this case, Pink Paislee Auburn Lane had the right vibe. It's part fall, part family, part cozy at home. This page is everything I wanted it to be.

Little Things

Hey there and good morning! I'm on the Paper Issues blog again today sharing this project featuring our FREE cut files. 

You know, there are so many great cut files in the shop! Sometimes I'm overwhelmed and have no idea where to start. Other times, like today, I have an idea in my head and can't wait to get started. 

Oh, so that idea? Well, leaves. Layered leaves. I mean it's fall after all right? So I cut a bunch of leaves from the November Tags, October Daily Tags, Collecting Leaves and Fall is My Favorite cut files using  Pink Paislee Auburn Lane. Yeah, now the fun part. What to do with them! After moving them around the Newsprint page for a while, they landed in the corners. I like them there. They frame the photo nicely. But then I had space to fill. I don't like a lot of wasted space. So I filled it with a wood frame and some ephemera. Voila! This is a simple page really but these cut files make it special.

Squad Goals

Good morning! I am still working my way through the May challenges at Paper Issues. Today I'm joining the Girls Rule the World challenge. 

I dont know why I've been waiting to use Pink Paislee Pick Me Up. It's so pretty! Well, anyway used it today. Ive been really into altering papers to use them in different ways on my pages. My latest victim was the specialty vellum. I cut it all apart, using it to fill the page with all the sentiments that make me think of my friends, our relationship and what we do together. It was so easy. I left open spaces and filled them with a variety of embellishments. To soften the lines I added a few pieces of A Flair for Buttons flair. The Strut Your Stuff and Gold & Black Girl Boss fit perfectly on my page. We can talk about the title if you want too. We are our own Squad. It was the only one I was going to use!

These ladies are my Squad, my Tribe. Im soapy to be able to call them my friends.

Sunshine Day

Hello and happy Friday! You know sometimes you see something and are immediately inspired scrap? Well, that has been happening to me a lot lately. The problem is, I don't have enough time in my day to scrap all of these ideas. This page today is the result of some of that instant inspiration. 

I made this for the Frame it Up challenge at Paper Issues using the new Pink Paislee/Paige Taylor Evans Pick Me Up. But I have to say, this page did not start out this way. Nope. I had intended to cut apart several of the pieces from the foiled vellum specialty paper, using them to surround the photo. When I was looking for a patterned paper to use as a background, I stumbled upon this frame background papers, and well, I guess I don't have to tell you the rest.... 

I filled some of the frames with the vellum paper, chipboard, stickers and ephemera. It was really quick and easy to put together. Well, after I chose what I was going to use. 

We had a visit from the sun a few weeks ago. It was a real treat! I'm not joking when I say a winter day filled with sun is something to celebrate around here. So I did, with sunglasses and a selfie.

Up to No Good!

Hey Hey I'm back again! 3rd time in a week! See, I told you I'd be back on track!  I'm up on the Paper Issues Blog today sharing one of our awesome FREE cut files! I don't know about you, but I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. Can you imagine my excitement when I saw the Perfectly Potter cut file arrive in the Paper Issues shop?!?!  I'll take every chance I can get to weave some HP into my daily life.

This saying makes me think of my younger son and all the mischief he tries to create.  So does Wild Child by Pink Paislee. I mean come on, Danger? Wild and Mischief on the embellishments? Yes please!  The funny thing is, I couldn't find the right photos to go with it. Until this night. This wild child of my own was insistent that something was under the couch. I kept telling him nope, nothing is there.  He pushed, pulled and squirmed his way behind it, until he found what he was looking for.  He sure proved me wrong!

I had to decide on how many photos and their size before I could decide how to resize the cut file. Placing the photos in the center of the cut file seemed to be the way to go. I stayed with white behind the words so they would be readable, and stand out behind the green. I filled in the stars because, well, it makes them more wild! I also played off of the stars, using more of them scattered about.

I love how this part of the Perfectly Potter cut file works as a title, the story and design of my page. This just shows you how awesome and versatile our cut files can be!

Dream Chaser

Good morning! The January Notable Quotable challenge is on the Paper Issues blog today. This quote spoke to me so I jumped on this one!

The word 'dream' stood out to me, so that's where I began.  When I thought about paper collections for this, I decided Pink Paislee Turn the Page had what I was looking for. This collection has many inspirational sayings and icons perfect for this page. I grabbed all the blues & greens I could find, and began by cutting apart all the hexagons from paper #17. Then I layered some other papers behind the photo. I scattered all the stars from the Fresh Start Icon Thickers , adding a few pieces of ephemera. The title is a sticker, and says exactly what I wanted it to say.

My son is a senior this year, so we are all thinking about what's next. We all have dreams for him, but none are important if they are not his. Im not sure he knows yet what they are, but once he does, I know he wont stop until they are real.

Little Moments

Hey good morning! I do not like how crazy life has been. I much prefer the regularity of life at a much slower pace. Never the less, I am here today for Scraplift Sunday at Paper Issues. Today we are lifting Tracey!

This page is so fun! I totally changed it! I wanted a simpler look for mine. I chose Pink Paislee Turn the Page for this project. Patterned paper became the blocks, layering a single photo over them. I also used the blocks to house some of the embellishments, so the rest of the page stayed cleaner. Pretty easy right?

I'm so behind printing photos I had to dig deep for this one! I think that every year I've been able to take a trip with my olde son. This was one of those trips to visit my grandparents. It's one of the little moments in time I'd like to remember.

Life: Changing

Well happy Sunday to you. It's not just Sunday, It's Scraplift Sunday at Paper Issues.  Today we are lifting a layout by a former member, Elodie. 

First thing I did was flip the design. It felt right this way for me. Then I combined some of the Pink Paislee Turn the Page paper with sone if the washi tape strips. Then I felt like stitching. The rest was easy. I layered up some die cuts and chipboard Thickers, a sprinkling of sequins, some flair and I was done. 

I'd been thinking about this for a long time. I wanted to do something for me. Well, I finally took the plunge and got a part time job. This is me at work.

Pooch Smooch

Good morning! It's Take 5 Tuesday at Paper Issues today. Here is the November board.

I'll start with the items I used. It was more than 5. Yellow, Die Cuts, Stitching, Stripes, Patterned Paper and animal. First I cut the heart, then I stitched around it. The stripes were created with the Pink Paislee Turn the Page washi tape strips The patterned paper sits behind my photo, the animals are the chipboard and stickers butterflies and birds as well as my dog in the photo. See, easy peasy.  

Yes, I am one of those dog people. But no, I do not kiss my dog on the mouth. It just looks that way. I also love him with all go my heart.

Good morning! It's my favorite day of the week! It's Scraplift Sunday at Paper Issues. Today we are lifting this delightful summery layout by Ann.

I just loved the design. It's so simple really, but filled with so many details. My photo is a little larger, the embellishments different shapes, but the design is the same. I grabbed the new Pink Paislee Turn the Page for this one. I liked all the sentiments about change in the ephemera, stickers and icon phrase Thickers.  I threw a few of the shaped sequins on to finish off the page. oh my they are so cute.

This is one of those photos that I can look at and know exactly what was going through all of our minds. I will always know when, where and why it was taken. It is full of emotion. All kinds of emotion. It brings me right back every time I look at it.
