You Are Loved

Hey there and good morning! Look at me go! 3rd time this week. Go me! Anyway, Today I have  page for the Free File challenge at Paper Issues

I started with the Stitching Doily cut file. I actually cut & stitched this a few weeks ago, but didnt know what I wanted to do with it. So I let it sit. I was playing around with this Fancy Pants  The Bright Side and had an 'aha' moment! Ding Ding Ding! It's like I made it just for this!  All I had left to do was add some embellies. Would you believe that took me almost as long as stitching the doily? I just couldn't decide how much to put on or when to stop. Well, I was restrained and I love it.

When he was little, he loved looking close into my eyes. Butterfly kisses? Maybe. But we used to say I. Seeeeeeee.....YOU.

Squad Goals

Thursday, May 24, 2018

Good morning! I am still working my way through the May challenges at Paper Issues. Today I'm joining the Girls Rule the World challenge.

I dont know why I've been waiting to use Pink Paislee Pick Me Up. It's so pretty! Well, anyway used it today. Ive been really into altering papers to use them in different ways on my pages. My latest victim was the specialty vellum. I cut it all apart, using it to fill the page with all the sentiments that make me think of my friends, our relationship and what we do together. It was so easy. I left open spaces and filled them with a variety of embellishments. To soften the lines I added a few pieces of A Flair for Buttons flair. The Strut Your Stuff and Gold & Black Girl Boss fit perfectly on my page. We can talk about the title if you want too. We are our own Squad. It was the only one I was going to use!

These ladies are my Squad, my Tribe. Im soapy to be able to call them my friends.

Thanks for stopping by my creative view today. one back again, I have more to share. Need some mojo? Head over to the Paper Issues shop and get yourself some new stuff from Echo Park, Doodlebug and more. Use DEVRA at checkout for 20% off your purchase. Join all the fun in our Facebook Group

Sunrise, Sunset

Saturday, May 19, 2018

Hey there paper loving friends! I'm on the Paper Issues blog today with a Pinspirational, Pinsational, Pinspire Me project. Can we talk about how much I love this month's mood board? Lots. A ton. It has color. It has books and paint and donuts. Is that enough?

Yeah....none of that was my inspiration today. I went in a completely different direction. See that square smack in the center of the grid? Yes. That's the one. It looks divided in half to me. Also like the sun setting over the ocean. Yes, I do know it's yellow, but that's what my creative brain sees. So this is what I came up with. A Yin Yang page divided in half!

I mixed a couple of collections from last fall, One Canoe Two Creekside with Carta Bella Welcome Home. I was looking for muted colors and these worked really well together. I used the sun from the Sun & Fun cut file. I just cut it in half. I layered everything else over it in a mirror image. The two sides of the page pretty much have the same style and types of embellishments. Chipboard, stickers and die cuts all tucked side by side.  The A Flair for Buttons Watercolor Words flair were the perfect addition. the soft color and sentiment fir right in to the page. Are you singing along yet because the title is what joins all of this together and ties right back to that center square! See how I did that?

I've decided the only good thing about the sun rising so late here in the mornings during winter is that I am awake and can take photos. It happened to be a clear day when I could actually see the colors through the clouds. They were pink and blue like cotton candy. It was beautiful.

Sunsets here are intense. The sky becomes bright with saturated reds oranges and yellows. I treasure the winter sunsets because they are so rare. They too are photo worthy.

There you have it. I hope I've Pinspired you to join this challenge! You can find it and all the other challenges in the May Challenge Album in our Facebook group. There are several new arrivals in the Paper Issues shop. The Fun Stuff

Thursday, May 17, 2018

Oh Hello! Long time no see. Not really but it feels that way. I have a quick and easy project to share today for Paper Issues. Its for the What's Up challenge featuring the May Swag Bag

So what's up? Well, let me tell you. All the elements for this challenge have to be on the top 1/3 of the page! Yikes! I cant do that. Ok, I guess I did, but it was really hard not to add anything else! The truth is, this was pretty easy to complete. I only had limited space and I knew where everything had to go. I grabbed some color coordinated pieces from the Swag Bag, laid them out, trimmed them, sewed on them and that was pretty much it. Placing the embellishments. That was the hard part. I went with a couple of the larger ones and used the scattered sequins to tie it all together. I guess you can say I cheated. I couldn't help but splatter some paint!

Bright silly colors and all the heart eyes for Minions! Especially mine! I love that there is always a summer movie to see on someones birthday. Its always a great family activity to celebrate.

Thanks so much for stopping by my creative view today. If you haven't picked up your May Swag Bag now is your chance. There are still a few in the Paper Issues shop along with new Echo Park and Crate Paper. Get them for 20% off using DEVRA at checkout. Now its your turn to join all the fun and challenges!

Flower Shop

Tuesday, May 8, 2018

May Day, May Day! I can't believe it's May already. At Get It Scrapped, we are starting the month off  with a new blog article. The topic is The 5 Page Parts As Focal Points on the Scrapbook Page. Canvas, photos, embellishments, title, and journaling.

Although not every scrapbook page needs ALL 5 page parts, I think we can all agree that each of these parts can play an important role on the page. The purpose of this article is to illustrate the importance of each page part in the context of the whole page.

I started my whole process for this page with the canvas as the focal point. The flower shop storefront printed on white washed wood grain paper drew me to the flower photos. I used a second piece of paper and dimensional adhesive to give the awning and some of the flower pots a 3D look. Placing the photos behind the printed flowers, then layering embellishments, including the 'title' gives the page a real feeling of being in a flower shop.

Every April for the past several years, we have visited the tulip fields. Each year I try to focus on something different. This year it was the field of flowers themselves. The vast amount of flowers together looked to me like a bright vivid blanket of color as far as you can see.

Thanks so much for stopping by my creative view today. Come back again soon, I have so much more to share.

Scooby Who?

Saturday, May 5, 2018

Hey there! I have a project to share today for Paper Issues and A Flair for Buttons. I think Paper Issues has some of the best free electronic cut files. Like this one that I used today. It's the Inner Circle cut file, it's new, and I couldn't wait to use it. But how?

Well, all it took was finding this photo. Scooby Doo and this cut file go hand in hand! At least in my head they do. So I pulled out some PhotoPlay Boys Rule and got busy. Guess what. It worked! Navy and green, wonky patterned paper, small little clusters let this cut file be the star of this page, after the photo of course! The finishing touch for me is flair from the Super Hero set. It was perfect for this!

So Scooby Doo is like a right of passage for kids right? My son LOVED (and maybe still does) it. He had stuffed animals, blankets, books. You name it. When we went to Great American and he saw Scooby stuff all over he went nuts. He insisted on playing games so he could win more Scooby! When he saw what we call Big Scooby, he made Dad play until he won. He was so excited it was hard to say no. He carried him to the car just like that.

Thanks so much for stopping by my creative view today. Check out all the Free Cut Files. Shop the many new paper collections in the Paper Issues shop today using DEVRA at checkout or 20% off your purchase.

You are Magic

Tuesday, May 1, 2018

May Day! May Day! How is it May already? I don't know but it is! Im happy to be here to share my first project for May with Paper Issues Partner's Up challenge. This month's partner is Let's Get Sketchy. So you know what that means? A sketch!

It's a pretty nifty sketch don't ya' think?  Well of course I used it my way though. Ready? I really have been wanting to use this marble paper in the Dear Lizzy Stay Colorful collection.  I though it would be great for the torn element. Yep, it was perfect. It looked so good I decided not to add another strip of paper. I loaded up the layers under the photo instead. I added embellishments in the lower corner instead of paper. This collection is so wonky, I've been challenging myself to use some of the crazy icons and magical creatures in it. This time its the cat in the bike riding past the row of houses!

I layered die cuts, stickers and strips of paper under the photo then built up the cluster with foam tape and more layers of stickers.

That title? My dog is magic. He has magical calming powers. We call him a calming soul and he truly is. Ahhh, see?!?! All the magical creatures.  Magic.

Thanks for stopping by my creative view today. It's the first of many posts this month so I hope you'll come back again. You have all month long to join the May Challenges.
