Hey there! I'm sharing this project on The Cut Shoppe blog today, It features the On A Roll cut file.  I've wanted to use this cut file for a while now, but just coudn't pin down an idea for it. Until now. 

I wanted something fun and whimsical for some Disneyland photos. This cut file is perfect. I did a few things to it though. First I cut out the pieces. Then I went back in to design mode and moved the pieces away from each other in order to create more space. Then I used the offset tool to cut the stitch lines. As a bonus, with all the patterned papers I used, the extra space works in my favor. Next, I want to make a pizza with this cut file!

Sometimes you need to go do something fun, where you can be silly, laugh and just do what you want. This is my sister and I doing just celebrating her birthday at Disneyland.

Hey there! Happy June! I'm up on The Cut Shoppe blog today sharing this project I made using The Big Screen cut file.

I love a good grid and thought it would be fun to create one using the film strip. I cut it 3 times, removing the word "action" afterwards, then I flipped them vertically. I thought about filling one of the squares with my photo, but what fun would that be.  Instead I backed the squares with pattern paper, and placed my photo overlapping two of the filmstrips. The rest was easy! A few embellishments fill some of the squares and I was finished. 

I think it's fun to use products in fun and different ways than they may have been intended. I challenge you to do the same! Share what you make with us in our Facebook group.

Today is the Day

Good morning! I have a 3 for 1 layout today! I'm sharing this page on the Get It Scrapped and A Flair for Buttons blog. This page also is for the Take 5 challenge at Paper Issues. I used stripes, die cuts, flair, mist and blue.  At Get It Scrapped, we are talking about using sparkle on your scrapbook pages to enhance certain elements, add dimension, or a touch of glam. 

I started with some bright colored papers from Dear Lizzy. I wanted this page to feel happy and celebratory. The sentiments I chose on the stickers, and die cuts all speak to this theme. The Smash Phrases flair are so perfect too! I was even able to use Graduation Flair .

Since this page is about a celebration, I used some glitter filled epoxy stars. They add both dimension and shine, and are part of the theme of the page. They are slightly outside the block which draws attention to them as well. The sentiment stickers happend to be gold foiled, which also added to the celbratory theme. The gold spray splatters coordinate with the stars and are fun.

Sparkle is a great way to draw attention to elements on the page. In one particular place or to moce the eye around the page.

My son just graduated from High School and will be leaving soon for college. This was a great day for him and our family, I cant wait to see what he does next!

You are Magic

May Day! May Day! How is it May already? I don't know but it is! Im happy to be here to share my first project for May with Paper Issues Partner's Up challenge. This month's partner is Let's Get Sketchy. So you know what that means? A sketch! 

It's a pretty nifty sketch don't ya' think?  Well of course I used it my way though. Ready? I really have been wanting to use this marble paper in the Dear Lizzy Stay Colorful collection.  I though it would be great for the torn element. Yep, it was perfect. It looked so good I decided not to add another strip of paper. I loaded up the layers under the photo instead. I added embellishments in the lower corner instead of paper. This collection is so wonky, I've been challenging myself to use some of the crazy icons and magical creatures in it. This time its the cat in the bike riding past the row of houses!

I layered die cuts, stickers and strips of paper under the photo then built up the cluster with foam tape and more layers of stickers. 

That title? My dog is magic. He has magical calming powers. We call him a calming soul and he truly is. Ahhh, see?!?! All the magical creatures.  Magic.

Stay Magical

Good Morning! Just wanted to share a little something I made for the Paper Issues Spring has Sprung challenge.  

For weeks Ive been eyeing all the florals in the Dear Lizzy Stay Colorful collection. I just wanted to fussy cut them all, especially the gold foil vellum!. So I did. I cut them apart, then layered them to create my own colorful flower garden. I suck in a few butterflies, and wait! I spy a unicorn too! The flowers are the star of the show here so not much else was really needed. 

Im reorganizing my craft space and came upon these photos while cleaning. Thy have always been a favorite of mine and thought they fir with what I was doing on this page.

My Ray of Sunshine

Good morning! I seem to be on a roll this week. I told you I would be! It's time to work that Font-Astic Title with the Oct Working Title challenge at Paper Issues

I have never cut into new papers so quickly. It all started with the  Hello Sunshine piece from the Magical Phrase Chipboard Thickers from the new Dear Lizzy Star Gazer collection.  I also couldn't wait to use the Color/Circle Burst free cut file. Fast forward an hour or so, Ive sewn around the cut file, cut and glued 6 of the different papers, added a few die cuts and puffy stickers and voila! It's done!

So every morning, I have to drag this guy out of bed. Typical teen ager right? But then he gets to the landing of the staircase, and smiles at me. He sits there for a few minutes to wake up, then I have to entice him some more to come all the way down the stairs. Some days are harder than others. That smile makes everything a little easier.

They said...

Hello! It's Pinspire Me day at Paper Issues and oh my goodness this months mood board is Ah-Mazing! Just look at those colors! I love everything about this. Well, I love summer, so of course I would. I stared and stared trying to decide which direction to go in. Paint? Beach? Pool?

At the very last minute, I settled on this. The popsicle. It really inspired the story behind the photo. Because of that, didn't want to use a summer themed collection, but I wanted to use color. So, Dear Lizzy Lovely day fit the bill. Color, plus sentiments I could use in a funny way from the stickers and ephemera. I think I'm in a navy phase. It seems fresh to me. So I used the B side of the Bunny Love paper for the background. I kept this really simple so the title and story could be seen. But really, without this mood board, I probably wouldn't have done this page. 

This photo came up in the 'On this Day' reminder in my Facebook feed. I'd forgotten al about it. But yes, everything I wrote that day is true. I took every word and used that as my journaling. So popsicles. They aren't just for kids anymore.

Pushin' Pedals

Good morning! This month Paper Issues is packed with great challenges! Let's start this fine Monday with our New Issue, Put the Petal/Pedal to the Metal/Medal. There are so many ways to use this theme!  Here are a few ideas for you:

-Use metallics and/or metal embellishments
-Create a project using flowers or about gardening and spring
-Share something about transportation like bicycles, motorcycles, cars (your first car or current ride), toy cars
-Show us a project about awards and/or accomplishments

My page comes from Put the Pedal to the Metal. I've had these photos for a couple year and just hadn't taken the time to get them onto paper until now. I figured I had several bicycle embellishments in my stash, but chose to play with the newest Dear Lizzy collection, Lovely Day.  This line has so many different motifs in it. There is soft & sweet, sarcastic and inspiring. I put a bit of all of that into this page. I had some scraps of More Friday, which I used both sides of, as well as a small piece of the Oh Hello paper. Th rest are pieces of chipboard phrase Thickers and ephemera. As Ive been in a stitching binge. I stitched part of the title, setting it onto a shelf of the scallop background cut file. 

I'm insistent about my son having access to typically learning children while at school. The best way we found to do that is to have him attend a GenEd PE class. Best decision we ever made. He has a bike that he rides almost every day. Twice a year, the PE class has a Bike Safety unit. It was really the first time that he cold do the exact sane thing as everyone else. He may not have been able to go as fast or fluid as them, but he was so happy to be with him it didn't matter.

Choose Crazy

Good morning! Devra here today. I love this time of year when all the new collections are available.  There's so much to choose from! I get so many ideas that sometimes I get overwhelmed and just don't know where to begin! That's when I look for a challenge to get me started in the right direction. Fortunately, there are many challenges to participate in every month in our Paper Issues {Friends & Fans} Facebook group. 

For today's project, I decided to join today's Scraplift Sunday challenge, lifting an amazing LO by Cat Martin featured in our February Notable Quotable post. The layout is vibrant and full of energy,t making me think of this silly photo. Hmm, which collection will work best? I landed on the new Dear Lizzy Lovely Day collection, moistly because of the Lovely Phrase Thickers! I mean Choose Crazy! Yes!

I used both sides of the Oh Hello floral/polka dot paper with the More Friday paper sandwiched in the middle.

I layered and clusters several die cuts and stickers, accenting them with enamel dots, flair and more chipboard pieces. 

I am having way to much fun with this collection and cant wait to create more with it. Don't Grow Up

Hello there! Its time for the new Notable Quotable challenge at Paper Issues! Let me tell about this. We give you a quote, and you create a project inspired by it. It's that easy.  

So this month is a quote from Peter Pan about growing up. Yep. It was that easy. The Dear Lizzy Lovely Day Chipboard Phrase Thickers  include a sentiment that couldn't be more suited for this quote.  If yo know me, you Dear Lizzy isn't really my thing. But I have to say, these papers are working for me right now. I started with the phrase. I found a photo of my son that I could use to expand on that sentiment. From there I grabbed the Circle collage FREE cut file, thinking i could use it to frame the photo. And that it did. I love the B sides of Beep Beep, Dreamer, and Oh Hello . The and used them to back the file. The consistency of color of the watercolor prints, are so pretty and really are just the right shades for the photo. 

Time seems to be moving too quickly right now and I just want it to stand still, for all of us. For just a little while longer. He's at the point where he's trying to live his life and think about the future. I just want to let him be  kid for a little bit longer.
