Hey there! I'm wrapping up June with one last post. It's time for another Printable Roundup at Paper Issues. Did you know that every month  new set of printables are released that you can download for FREE? Today, I used one from the March Crop set. 

Since this page is about me, I chose one that's a good reminder about happiness, but always with a bit of sarcasm.

Frames. I've been loving frames lately. This is something I resisted for a long time. I didn't want to cut my photos to fit them, blah, blah, blah. Now that I've figured out how to use them to embellish a page, I lOVE them! And that's exactly how I used the big black frame here. The printable and frame are the only all black items on the page, so they stand out! 

I had a little bit of Simple Stories I Am left that I used for this page. I created a sort of wonky block across the page with my photo in the center. I surrounded the photo  with several frames, then filled in the block with other ephemera bits, stickers and a wood piece. Its been a nice change to be more free and less symmetrical on my pages lately.

Woof, I have Issues

Woof! That's good  morning according to my dog.  It's Printable feature day over at Paper Issues. Each month a new free set of printables are available for downloading to use on your creative projects. Today we are featuring design team projects using some of them.

I used one from the June release on this layout about my dog. He had a spazz, tore up one of his toys, then looked at me with his sad puppy face that said, "Ruh Roh..." I used the 'I have Issues' card to write the things that he may have been thinking.

I kept the page really simple. There were lots of elements I wanted to feature. The photos, printable card, the photos and the big WOOF on this new Seven Paper, Baxter Line by Studio Calico. I cut the paper up, tucking under the photos. I added the Doodlebug Designs doilies  to soften the lines on the page, then repeated Bella Blvd chipboard circles down the page for balance and color.

'Cause it's all about that Base

Hey there! It's Printable Sunday over at Paper Issues. Each month a new set of FREE printables are available for downloading in the Paper Issues shop. I decided to use one from the  March release and one from April.

The baseball one for sure was going on this page.  I was going to use 'Obsessed' on another page, but it made me laugh, so I used it here instead. I trimmed it down to3x5 to better fit the design of my page did some baseball stitching over it to highlight it. The rest of the design is just wonky. But it works.

I laid out the block, then surrounded it with the following. I used the red Bella Blvd transparency under the Paper Issues circle/star cut file. I sprayed the cut file with the new Heidi Swapp Color Shine mist in Tea.  I didn't use many embellishments due to the design, but I did use the Pinkfresh Studio rub ons that were included in the April Swag bag, as well as one of the Snarky Stamps Hey Dude stamps, and a wood veneer from the Elle's Studio Cienna collection.

You see, I love Baseball. I live for spring, for the beginning of the season. I feel horribly sad in the fall when the season is winding down. I'm 100% sure it has to do with spring and summer being my favorite seasons of the year though too.

While on our most recent vacation in Arizona, we had the opportunity to go to our first baseball game of the season. Giants vs. Diamondbacks. No, these are not 'my' teams. Who cares?!? It was opening week! It was the opening series! We were at the stadium, eating hotdogs, watching the game and keeping score. And that's all that mattered.
