Good Monday morning and happy February! I don't know about you, but I like Mondays...Kids go back to school and I get to do all the things i don't get to do not weekends!  And how about that Superbowl????

Before I get to toad's page, I want to share two exciting pieces of information.  First, the second issue of Let's Get Sketchy Magazine is out.  You can view it but heading over to the LGS blog HERE.  It is loaded with wonderful layouts. I'm sure you will find some inspiration on every page!

Second, Want to get published?  Let's Get Sketchy is taking submissions for it's 3rd magazine Issue, which will be published on May 1, 2014. For more information, please check out THIS POST on the LGS blog

Today is reveal day at Let's Get Sketchy.  We have a great sketch to work with and I had a lot of fun with it.

I had this photo printed in 5x7 a long time ago, and it's just been sitting in a photo box.  He finally lost his first tooth in January 2009.  It was really loose and we were afraid he was going to swallow it, so we had to pull it out.

First of all, I used a larger photo and centered it on the page. I layered the banner, also centering it under the photo. Instead of a full fledged banner at the top of the page, I cut the paper, opened it and slipped another paper behind it. I used  twine to hold the flaps open. I played up the red as a weightier color as well as contrast to the colors in the photo. All the patterns are busy together, so I limited the embellishments, but I did add the arrow clip pointing at his smile.

I can't wait to see what you come up with using this terrific sketch at Let's Get Sketchy.

Supplies:
PP, washi & enamel dots-MME
twine-Doodlebug
Alphas-Thickers
Arrow-Freckled Fawn

  4. I love the larger picture and the journaling. And cutting the chevron paper like you did just makes the page! Great layout!
