Hey hey! I'm on the Paper Issues Blog today with my take on Scraplift Sunday week 2! Check this out! Kelly made it and its incredibly fun. It was fun too lift too!

So here's what I did! OMG I had so much fun with this page? Want to know why? Well, let's start with my photo. I got to meet one of my fellow  team mates! Yes! How cool, is that! So I had to some to come up with just the right supplies right?

I did! My Minds Eye Good Vibes has just the vibe I was looking for!  I mean, its for girls right?!?  Look at all those bright colors and fun icons! They were made for me! Camera? √ Flowers? √ Cool fun words? √

Well, after I laid out all my stuff, I cut and stitched my title using the Thick Paint Alpha cut file. Then came the fun part which was tucking and layering all of the die cuts, stickers, and extra little bits. Since my title was smaller, I extended all the embellishments!  I may have over done it but I couldn't stop myself. The more I looked at my supplies, the more I found to play with!

I even put a brad in the center of the flower!

So now I challenge you to a little bit of scrap lifting! Join us in our Facebook group to find this and all of our other April challenges. You have until May 6 to get your entries in. Looking for even more inspiration? The Spring Crop is in full swing! There are live challenges, chatter, games and prizes!

The Red Door

Tuesday, April 24, 2018

Good morning! I love the topic on the Get It Scrapped blog today. Stitching. But using it in creative and meaningful ways on the scrapbook page. I stitch often on my scrapbook pages. I love how I can change the look by adding a small detailed touch or bold statements with color and design.

For this page, I cross stitched a heart from the Shimelle Box of Crayons journaling tablet. It already had dots to create lines (like a bullet journal). This made it easy to poke the holes in the right places using a paper piercer. I hand stitched with a needle and embroidery floss.

The cross stitching and the heart represents what the 'red door' means. It's the Cardiac unit at the hospital. It's about healing hearts. It's stitched together. It's repaired. It's stitched completely. It's whole. It's full. It also represents my feelings of gratefulness and hope, as one 'crosses their heart' or 'counts their blessings'.

This is a story about perspective and feeling grateful for the way things are. Although I face many challenges with my family, things could be so much worse than they are.

You also know I like playing with product, trying to use them with purpose, but in unintended ways. I mixed together PinkFresh A Case of the Blahs and Let Your Heart Decide. I chose the embellishments that best described my feelings and helped to tell my story. I'm joining the Notable Quotable challenge at Paper Issues as yes, I'm always trying to look on the bright side.

Stay Magical

Thursday, April 12, 2018

Good Morning! Just wanted to share a little something I made for the Paper Issues Spring has Sprung challenge.

For weeks Ive been eyeing all the florals in the Dear Lizzy Stay Colorful collection. I just wanted to fussy cut them all, especially the gold foil vellum!. So I did. I cut them apart, then layered them to create my own colorful flower garden. I suck in a few butterflies, and wait! I spy a unicorn too! The flowers are the star of the show here so not much else was really needed.

Im reorganizing my craft space and came upon these photos while cleaning. Thy have always been a favorite of mine and thought they fir with what I was doing on this page.

Thanks so much for stopping by my creative view today. Come back again soon, I have more to share. Head over to the Paper Issues shop to get some  Dear Lizzy Stay Colorful for yourself! It's 20% off when you use DEVRA at checkout!

Imagine

Tuesday, April 10, 2018

Good morning! Today's article at Get It Scrapped talks about piecework in designing scrapbook pages, similar to piecing together a quilt.

I really struggled with this design option. I started with 3 Columns/whitepace, but wound up feeling more comforatbale with the Vertical Axis piecework design. I only had 2 photos and this option enabled me to use embellishments in the opposite corners to balance the photos. I use similar designs often, but when I began thinking about it here, it became a roadblock. I overthought and I shouldn't have. When I've used this design before, I've used a large matte under the photos. Not using this one element really left me stumped!

All of my son's Lego kit creations broke when we moved. He tried to put them back together, but gave up and went back to his imagination creating new ones from the bucket of pieces.

I couldn't think of a better choice than Echo Park's Imagine That. It's filled with all kinds of playful motifs you may find in a boy's imagination. You can find it at Paper Issues. Be sure you use DEVRA at checkout for 20 % off your purchase.

Thanks so much for stopping by my creative view today. Come back again soon. I have more to share.

I Live For This

Saturday, April 7, 2018

Hey there! Today I'm sharing a layout on the Paper Issues blog for our Opening Day challenge.

Oh I couldn't pass this one up. No way! Baseball is my favorite sport and has been since I was younger. What a better topic for my page today than, well, Opening Day!  I get so excited as spring approaches. I just cant wait!  Every year on Opening Day we have a baseball party complete with hot dogs, Cracker jacks and apple pie.

Ok, well, enough about that. Let's get down to business. I grabbed some My Minds Eye Blast Off for this! What? Space theme for a baseball page! Yes! I think I will! I love to use products in different, unintended ways! The bright primary colors in this will be perfect.

I started with the Have a Ball cut file that Made into a border. Look how cool all those papers look behind them. Who needs a standard red & white ball anyway? Next up, the title. How about another cut file?  This time Lower Case Open Alpha which Cut from the Galaxy stripe paper.

To round out this page, I had to add some A Flair for Buttons flair. It was one more round element and I had the two perfect ones! Today from the Hexagon Love Boy set and the Heart from the Face Flair set.  Lastly, you know me, I need to add all my little bits! All the dots are brads and Nuvo drops!

Thanks so much for stopping by my creative view. That's all I have for you today. I have to get back to watching some baseball games! I really do live for this! You can find more about this page on my blog. I hope I've given you some ideas for using themed stuff in other ways! You can get My Minds Eye Blast Off as well as many new collections from Amy Tangerine, Elle's Studio and more in the Paper Issues shop. Use DEVRA at checkout for 20% off your purchase. Make a Wish

Friday, April 6, 2018

Hey there! I've got my game on this month and am on top of my blogging. All that really means is I've been scrapping and that's been fun!

Today I played along with the Paper Issues Bossy Scrapper challenge using the April Swag Bag
Here is what the Bossy Scrappers told us to use today:

Here's the deal. If you don't know or have never used a Swag Bag, you are missing out. It is pure genius. It is a small kit filled with 4x6 & 3x4 pieces of current patterned paper, as well as a variety embellishments, and sometimes special surprises! I love them.  I've used it for two projects already!

So let's talk about this one. When I opened my Swag Bag, I saw all the bright colors and some birthday themed stuff. I grabbed a piece of patterned paper that coordinated with the bright colors. I laid out 6 of the 3x4 pieces, overlapping in places. See how cool that looks? They all coordinate! So easy! I took out my fringe scissors to add some more party flavor. That was the perfect touch. Everything else on the page is also straight out of the Swag Bag. I stamped on the polka dots. I cut the banner in half, using it in 2 places. The Make a Wish is the pre-made title, the file tab is over the photos and there are pieces of ephemera and stickers as well.

I opened a box of childhood photos and came across this one of my 9th birthday. This was the year of the dress up game, and finally a year without a clown cake.

Thanks so much for stopping by my creative view today. I have a lot more to share this month so come back again soon. Need some inspiration? Amy Tangerine and Elle's Studio have arrived in the Paper Issues shop. They are 20% off using DEVRA at checkout.

Have You Ever Seen the Rain

Wednesday, April 4, 2018

Hey Hey! Just like that it's already April! Wow. That just means more unpredictable weather here. so nothing really different. Speaking of weather, that is the topic of the page I'm sharing today for the Layered on Thick challenge at Paper Issues

Lately I've been inspired by altering paper. There are so many beautiful papers this spring that have been scraping at me to take apart by cutting, sewing and or layering. The In the Sky paper in the new Shimelle Box of Crayons collections one of those papers! I saw it and wanted to cut it. Sew it, Layered. I pretty much did!

I started with two pieces of paper. yep, two. I stitched around the clouds of the first one creating the bottom layer of the page.  The second paper I cut apart, stitching where the 'rain' had been printed on two of the sections, then glued them over their same spots. Then came the fun of adding some color. There are so many colorful prints and patterns in this collection. I love all of them. I kept it pretty tame with some reds & yellows, adding some stickers, die cuts

My favorite A Flair for Buttons flair. The Summertime 2 rainbow fit the colors so well. The Super Hero set gave me the POW I needed to go along with the photo dont you think?

I cant wait to create more projects with Box of Crayons! It makes me so happy! You can get it and so much more in the Paper Issues shop. It's always 20% off when you use DEVRA at checkout
