Summer Is Coming

Friday, May 24, 2019

Hey there! I'm up on The Cut Shoppe blog today with this project featuring the Summer is Coming cut file.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I love summer. Let me tell you, signs of summer are everywhere! One of my favorite things to do when its warm is to sit in the backyard in the morning, drinking coffee while listening to the birds sing. So this cut file is perfect!

I used AmyTangerine Stay Sweet papers to cut and back the file. I love using patterned paper to cut and back files! I added an extra strip of paper behind the line to add more color. My photo fit nicely tucked over and under some of the letters. I really love when a cut file is a little bit of everything: title, focal point and embellishment. It makes a layout come together so easily.

Of course my finishing touch is A Flair for Buttons. They add a bit of dimension and tie all the colors together. I used the Hello Spring and Watercolor Designs 1 today.

There you have it. Thanks for stopping by my creative view today. I have so many ideas and not enough time. Come back again soon to see what's next on my list!

Hey there! It's Sunday and you know what that means...It's Scraplift Sunday with Paper Issues. I'm  sharing my lift of Angie's page on the  Paper Issues blog today.

I love the diagonal design in Angie's page!  You know what else I love? Crate Paper All Heart ! It's so inspiring! All the flowers, photos and girl power?  I just can't get enough. I started with the Wild paper as the background. I used one of the cut apart papers to create my diagonal design, filling in spaces with the Ephemera,  6x12 Stickers, and  Dreamer Thickers . I couldn't think of a better way to use the Girl Boss and Lovely Words A Flair for Buttons flair!  Seriously, this couldn't have been any easier.

I've been really feeling like I need a boost of confidence. I chose a lot of these powerful words to remind me that maybe I don't.

Thank so much for stopping by my creative view today. Come back agin soon, I've got more to share!  You can get Crate Paper All Heart in the Paper Issues shop for 20% off your purchase when you use DEVRA at checkout.

Hey there and good morning! Today it's my turn on the Paper Issues blog. I am sharing a project for the May Flowers challenge. You'd think this would be easy right? Wrong! Too many choices! Do I use photos of flowers? A cut file? Flower embellishments? Ot should I just make it easy and use floral paper?  See what I'm talking about?!?! Well, I couldn't decide, so I just used a lot of flowers!

I started with my photos of our recent visit to the tulip fields. So, boom. Flowers. They are so pretty. How do I want to highlight them on my page? Well, how about Cocoa Vanilla Happiness? The colors are bold vibrant and there are gorgeous flowers throughout this collection. I started by fussy cutting the flower wreath from the So Fresh  paper. Then I cut it apart before gluing it down. Gah! Yes. I did! The rest was easy after this. I just stuck a few stickers and ephemera around the photos and it was pretty much done. Oh, but I should tell you. One go my favorite new products right now are the Vicki Boutin Watercolor markers. I used them to create all the splatters. They are so much fun! Well, there you have it. May flowers. I made it way harder then it needed to be!

I love our annual visits to see the tulips. The colors are amazing. Really, just seeing so many flowers in one place is truly spectacular. This year, I paid attention to the color. It was a mostly gray day. Maybe that's why they stood out to me so much.

Thanks so much for stopping by my creative view today. I've got some more projects to share so com back again soon. You can get Cocoa Vanilla Happiness and so much more in the Paper Issues shop right now. Use DEVRA at checkout for 20% off your purchase.

Hey there! I'm up on The Cut Shoppe blog today sharing this page I made using The X File. This is file that has been around for a while. I've never used it, but always wanted to. So here it is.

I love circles don't you? They are so easy to use on layouts. They make everything happy! This cut file has the added bonus of the X in the middle. I was thinking 'X marks the spot' kind of goes with my son's first time hitting golf balls with his Grandfather.

Today I cut the file out of patterned paper from the Echo Park Good Day Sunshine collection. I decided to back only some of the circles. I didn't want it to look too busy. I like some of the open white space! I used a few embellishments to finish it off, including A Flair for Buttons flair. I love how this cut file is both background and embellishment too!

Thanks so much for stopping by my creative view today. I have more to share so stop by again soon!
