Hi there and Happy New Year! This last year was an amazing year creatively for me. The first half of the year was spent fast and furiously creating for several design teams, including Paper Issues . These were truly invaluable experiences I will never forget. The second half of the year was spent creating for fewer design teams, and a little less often. I much prefer the fast and furious.

Speaking of Paper Issues, I'm part of their Blog Hop today featuring my favorite 15 projects I created in 2015.  Here you go, and they are in no particular order. Most of these were previously blogged. Click on the titles to go to the original post for more information.

Picture This Blog Hop

Thursday, December 3, 2015

Welcome to the Lets Get Sketchy/Picture This “My One Word” Blog Hop. You should have come from Jesse‘s blog. If you have landed here by accident and want to play along then you can head back to the Let's Get Sketchy site to start at the beginning and to start collecting your challenge words. All of the directions are there, which will help you make sense of how this works. These words should be bold on each Design Team member’s blog.

The word I chose for my project is "SILLY" I have these photos of my children with my sister, their favorite Aunt. She loves to bring them fun gifts. These hats were a huge hit and had us all in fits of giggles for days.  I chose a simple design with bright animal print paper. The page is happy and light, perfect for the photos.

I'm the last stop on the Blog Hop today, so from here, head back to the Let's Get Sketchy bIog
and follow the directions there.  Don’t forget, each team member has a word hidden someone on their page that forms a great quote so make sure you grab all the words for your chance at an extra prize!
My word(s) is ART IS.
Remember to play along in our hop challenge to win the wonderful prize from our sponsor, Creative Embellishments! If you get lost along the way, head on back over to Let’s Get Sketchy for the line up!

For your Fall inspiration I have created this project for the blog hop. I used the Let's Get Inspired magazine Fall Mood board for some extra inspiration.

I saw the mood board and thought I could use some papers I received in a class I take at my LSS.  I looked for a fall photo and found this one of our first trip to a new pumpkin patch.  Ok, so now I have pumpkins and pumpkins. Well, I chose a simple design so I could feature the papers, highlight the photo and still keep in the fall theme.

ScrapbookGeneration Blog Hop

Monday, June 2, 2014

Welcome to the Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop for June. You should have come here from Steffanie's blog.  If this is your first stop, you might like to begin at the Scrapbook Generation blog and then hop through each link from there.

have been working on a project the past few months. During the month of May, I committed myself to really putting the effort to get it completed. I am so happy I pushed myself to do this. As of today, I have about 5 LO's left to do and it will be completed. One, (and pretty much the only) reason I was so successful in my progress is because of Scrapbook Generation sketches. I used them for every 2 page LO in this project. There are at least 20 in this album, and I would not have been as close to finishing as I am without them.

Oh, the project, some of you may have heard me mention it just once or twice...The Bar Mitzvah Album...

This LO is from the party. It is tradition that the guest of honor be raised in the chair during the dance called the Horah. Well, somehow my Grandmother and I were raised as well. I can tell you in no uncertain terms, that Nani enjoyed it much more than I did!

I used a sketch from the Feb 2013 Super Saver Kit. I changed the photo sizes and adjusted the photo design on the right side. The sketch called for 2 horizontal photos. I re-arranged them to fir the two vertical ones instead.

What has been my lifesaver in this project, is the multitude of sketches for 4x6 photos. I thank you Scrapbook Generation  from the bottom of my heart.

You can find the SG sketches in their books and as downloads in the SG store, and there is a free one every month in case you wanted to try it out.

Please leave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a free sketch bundle of their choice from the store. The winner will be drawn on Monday, June 9th which leaves you one week to leave a comment.

Brims from Ear to Ear

Sunday, January 5, 2014

I'm rolling, 2 posts within the first week of the year. I'm going to continue on my quest to try new places for Scrappy Challenges.  My choice for January is My Scraps and More. I've been following this blog for quite a few months. I've Pinned several of their daily inspiration layouts, as well as sketches which are released on Fridays. I did use a MS&M sketch for one of my LO's. You can find the post for it here .

Well, for the first Friday post this month, they are having a blog hop. I really like their DT, so  I participated in the hop, and this is the LO I created with their sketch.

We were down in So Cal for a family event for the other side of my family. But I couldn't be down there and nit see my Mom!  She was really happy we made brunch plans with her and my Grandma. We didn't expect a 2 hour wait, or a shadeless area to wait in. It didn't matter to Grandma and Grandson. They had their hats to keep the sun off their faces and each other to pass the time.

You know me. I'm a 4x6 gal about 80% of the time.  So, again, I have adjusted a sketch to suit my needs. But hey, they are a jumping off point right?  This is a GREAT sketch! So easy to adapt to just about any way I want. I used 2 different sized 'squares' in order to extend the sketch to accommodate the photo. I added some washi against the papers, then layered a vellum die cut and twine over it.  I'm still experimenting with 'little bits' as embellishments.  I've never been an embellishment guru,  but I'm finding using lots of little things easier to do.  I used more stuff from those 3 Citrus Twist Kits I had too.  I'm truly amazed how far those kits have gone and how much I've enjoyed using them.

It's always fun when the mojo starts going again. Thanks to My Scraps and More, I got this done quickly and I love it!

Thanks for looking at my creative view today. Please add yourself to my list of followers. I'll have plenty of new posts coming up soon

My Favorite Things

Wednesday, December 4, 2013

If you are looking for the Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop, Please go here

Hi there. Welcome to the My Favorite Things blog hop brought to you by the creative team over at  Child's Play Challenges.  You should have landed here from Steffanie's Blog. If not, It's a good idea to head back over to Child's Play Challenges and begin from there.

Today we are sharing some of our favorite toys and such from our childhood, or a favorite gift given to a special child in our lives.

One of my favorite childhood memories is playing records on the record player in the bedroom I shared with my sister. At the times we got along, we had a whole lot of fun. One particular record comes to mind though.

Have you ever seen this? We played this record over and over and over and over...you get the idea. We giggled and laughed, we made up dances and movements, even special voices. A particular favorite song, especially of my sister's, was On Top of Spaghetti. I recently repurchased this album so I could share it with my children. Unfortunately, they didn't think it was as funny as I did....but oh the memories for me as I listened. I even remembered some of the words.

Hmm, so how was I inspired by this album you ask? I had a touch time coming up with something! I was looking for photos of someone in my family being tickled. Nope, couldn't find any. Could I use the animals? Perhaps. Not exciting me. All of a sudden, it hit me and I went to town.

I have a group of friends that I get to gather with for an annual scrap weekend.  We can get quite..ummm...silly at times. In these photos, all but one of us was wearing a pink shirt. We kinda planned that in advance and the joke was hilarious when it was finally realized.  The title and photos came to me at the same time.

Everything I used is from the Citrus Twist Kits I received this fall. I have to say, it was a really well thought out few months. All the papers and embellishments work together over the 3 months I purchased the kit.

The pink is pretty obvious, especially in these tones, but I think the brightness of the pink really speaks to the story in the page.  I added the feather because, well, feathers can tickle people. The rest if fairly neutral.

I have a small prize to giveaway. All you have to do is be a follower of my blog and leave me a comment, including that information.  I will draw a winner Sunday Dec 8.

Remember to follow along the guidelines from the Child's Play Challenges post to be eligible to win the prize on the blog.  If you need a reminder, here they are:
