Grin and Wear It

Sunday, March 15, 2015

Hey there! It's reveal Sunday for me. Picture This has a new challenge today.

Dark Background + 2 photos + butterfly

I'm certain I overthought this one. Dark ground and 2 photos? No problem. Butterfly? Well, they don't make frequent appearances on my pages, so they are not a staple in my stash. I also had to figure out a way to use one in context with the rest of the subject of my page.  I admit, It was the very last thing to be added. Did you find it yet? It's on the journal tag.

I've been finding lots of photo os my yogurt son smiling. Some I save to use to tell a story about him, Others are jut cute and I wasn't to look at over and over. These are two of those photos.  I found a fun sketch at Sketch n Scrap. I'm always looking for new ideas using both horizontal and vertical photos on a page. I mixed some colorful papers and embellishments to brighten up the dark background, and to play with the cheerful photos. It was quick and easy to put together.

Thanks for looking at my creative view today. Want to see more? You can find the Red Carpet Studio reveal post HERE.

Super cool scrappy goodness is coming your way!  Let's Get Sketchy his celebrating it's 2nd Birthday! Come celebrate with us all month long.  We will begin with a blog hop on March 1 that is sure to be filled with terrific inspiration and a few prizes as well.

Oh, I have more pages to share from my weekend scrap binge.  This first one is using a sketch from Sketch -n-Scrap. I really need to remember to play there more often!

The sketch:

I did so many valentiney themed LO's this month. I decided to change this one up a bit.

I love this photo of my son. He's so silly when it comes to baseball. He loves the baseball parties and dinners, and all the fanfare he gets from his aunt, but he really could care less about the game itself!

I got brave and cut my own circle, then added the baseball stitch. I used a bunch of scraps for the rest of the page and a few baseball embellishments. I needed a contrasting color so I there in a  bit of yellow.  I love this page! But then again I do love my baseball....

I've got more pages to share. Stop by again tomorrow.

Walker Races

Saturday, December 28, 2013

For some reason, I decided to give myself a goal this month and do 15 LO's. I figured with 2 weeks of winter break, I'd have plenty of time to play. Boy was I wrong...Oh well, so far I have 6 finished and one more week to go.  At least I am making progress.  I'm also getting to participate in some challenges, which makes me happy too. Today I am sharing a page I created for the crossover challenge with Scrap Our Stash and Sketch n' Scrap.  It's a sketch and also a stash challenge, to use at least 2 border punches and at least one additional punch as well.

Here is the sketch...

...and here is my page

These are very special photos to me. This was such a great day. Full of laughter and smiles for everyone. My son has always wanted to be like everyone else. It was incredible to see his reaction when he saw someone else using a walker like his. Great Grandma was just happy to see us. But I think walking around with him was something indescribable for her though.

Believe it or not, I'm still working my way through the Citrus Twist Kits I received for 3 months.  I liked these 'light' and cheerful papers. They share the feelings in the photos.  I cropped my 4x6 photos down to 4x5 and stretched out the entire sketch to accommodate the size of the photos.  I used 3 different border punches on the strips under the photos, and a corner rounder punch on the photo matte.  The holes for the twine are a border punch. I LOVE that one!  I actually don't have a lot of shape punches.  I thought them to be limiting, and not worth the investment. Ok, border punches are another story though. I have about 8 of those and use them frequently.  I created small embellishment clusters and typed my journaling, which I rawly do. I had more I wanted to say, but limited space.  I popped up 3 of the embellishments to give some dimension, then added a few little bits and some mist splatter to finish it off. I'm very happy with the result.

I made it in the knick of time to enter these challenges. Now lets see if I can finish off the other 9 in my own challenge!  Thanks for taking a look today. Check back again in another day or so.  I'll have a new post up soon!
