New Smile means New Lips

Please go here for today's Child's Play Challenges post.

Hello! Just a quick one today. I'm sharing for Get it Scrapped today. Creating layouts with still life photos. I do this a lot. More than I thought. Most are random and silly like the color of my toes after a pedicure or a pretty flower I saw on a walk. Some though, are random, but really have a lot of meaning to them. Like this one today.

In a nutshell. I celebrated getting my braces off with a trip to Nordstrom to buy new lipstick to show off my new smile.

Why is this significant?  I have an irrational fear of the dentist. I have since I was 19 after a bad experience getting my wisdom teeth out.  As a reward for being brave,  I would buy myself a treat each time I go to the dentist.  The fact that I had braces was a milestone in over coming my fear.  Here, the lipstick is my treat, and a representation of my story.

A quick tip: When I take still life shots, I play around with the angle of the photo to give it a little interest, as I've done here.

Thanks for taking a look at my creative view today. Head on over to the Get it Scrapped blog for more tips and ideas on creating layouts with still life photos.
